Launch of the 2021 Global Report on Disaster Displacement

THE DATE:
Thursday 20 May 2021 | 14:00 – 16:00 Geneva time

The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre is pleased to invite you to the virtual launch of our flagship report, the 2021 Global Report on Internal Displacement, which will take place on Thursday 20 May.

IDMC’s Global Report on Internal Displacement (GRID) is the world’s most trusted source of data and analysis on the risk, scale and impacts of internal displacement. Our report provides an overview of the most significant displacement situations worldwide and offers insights to challenges and opportunities to address and prevent displacement. In the report, we also flag key blind spots and areas where data and evidence needs strengthening. This year’s report includes a special focus on disaster displacement and the impacts of climate change. As such, the report will explore the intersections of climate, disasters, and internal displacement. It will also examine the linkages between conflict and climate, the social and economic impacts of disaster displacement, and provide lessons from around the world to address and prevent disaster displacement.
